You must not visit if you are unwell. Physical distancing rules apply.
Please ensure your hands are clean and you have visited one of our hand hygiene stations before you enter the patient's room and after you have left. We advise you call ahead to our inpatient units to discuss your intended visit or develop a visiting schedule with other family members and friends.
People seeking a test must make an appointment by calling 5191 9321 or online at www.hotdoc.com.au
If you become very unwell with COVID-19 symptoms outside of clinic hours, please contact the LRH Emergency Department for initial screening and advice. You may be required to attend the ED for testing and should take the necessary precautions such as wearing a mask.
The same testing criteria applies to children as it does to adults - fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose and loss of sense of smell or taste.
Where possible family members (parents/carers and children) who meet the testing criteria, should be tested at the one location.
Your child can get tested locally at the Latrobe Respiratory Assessment Clinic in Morwell or your GP. Please advise you require an appointment for COVID testing.
Please note: If parents or carers do not have symptoms, they are not required to self-isolate while their child is waiting for their test results, unless they are a close contact of a confirmed coronavirus case.
After the test: Take your child home immediately and keep them isolated until you receive the test result.
Most local clinics are open Monday to Friday only. More information can be found on the DHHS website by clicking on this link.
