Healthy Gippsland is a shared approach to improving health and wellbeing across our region. It brings together partners, initiatives across the region with a shared goal of building a healthier Gippsland.
Healthy Gippsland is not a single program or campaign. It represents a collective commitment to improving health outcomes through coordinated action across disease prevention, health promotion and health protection.
Why Healthy Gippsland matters
Improving health outcomes across Gippsland requires collaboration. No single organisation can do this alone.
Healthy Gippsland provides a shared identity and direction for partners. It helps to:
- Align efforts toward common regional priorities
- Strengthen collaboration across sectors and organisations
- Increase the visibility and impact of prevention focused work
- Support a more connected and coordinated public health system
How Healthy Gippsland is used
Healthy Gippsland is used to support and represent collaborative, region-wide work where there is shared ownership across partners.
This includes:
- Regional strategies, plans and reports (e.g. Gippsland Population Health Strategy 2025-29)
- Initiatives and partnerships
- Workforce development and capacity-building activities
Examples of Healthy Gippsland initiatives include:
- Healthy Gippsland Showcase events
- Healthy Gippsland Journal Club
- Healthy Gippsland e-newsletter
- Healthy Gippsland SharePoint site
- Healthy Gippsland Awards
