Expansion designs revealed
Planning for LRH's major expansion is underway and we're pleased to reveal some of the first designs. These artist impressions set the scene for what will be a contemporary space for our staff to work and patients to recover.
The designs show aspects of the proposed maternity unit reception and play area as well as a courtyard for the new intensive care and inpatient units.
You can also view a video animation. The video fly-over gives a really great impression on the size and scale of the construction project and how our new facilities will look.
The $217 million development, funded by the Victorian Government, is Stage 3a of LRH’s overall masterplan – a blueprint for improving and expanding services to the Gippsland community.
As well as improved maternity and paediatric facilities, the development will include a larger intensive care, 44 new beds plus more medical and surgical beds and additional operating theatres.
The project is expected to be completed in 2023. You can read more about the expansion by downloading the first of our regular newsletters.
