Stage 3A expansion - May 2020 update
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, work on the Stage 3A project has continued uninterrupted with the assistance of video-conferencing technology.
The project is now entering the final design phase which will extend into July this year.
These artist impressions set the scene for what will be a contemporary space for our staff to work and patients to recover.
You can also view a video animation. The video fly-over gives a really great impression on the size and scale of the construction project and how our new facilities will look.
The $217 million development, funded by the Victorian Government, is Stage 3a of LRH’s overall masterplan – a blueprint for improving and expanding services to the Gippsland community.
As well as improved maternity and paediatric facilities, the development will include a larger intensive care, 44 new beds plus more medical and surgical beds and additional operating theatres.
The project is expected to be completed in 2023. Download the August 2020 newsletter here.
