The Prevent Alcohol and Risk‐related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y) program was developed in Canada and is run in communities across the world. It is proudly sponsored by Loy Yang B Power Station.
The P.A.R.T.Y program at LRH helps young people to recognise situations where they may come to harm or be injured and adopt behaviours to miminise unnecessary risk.
Students become ‘frontline staff’ in simulated exercises in the Emergency Department and Critical Care and get the chance to engage with emergency services professionals, doctors, nurses, allied health practitioners and people who have experienced trauma and survived ‐ often with significant disabilities.
Participants are surveyed before and after the workshop to measure the impact of the program.
