GRPHU is inviting businesses and organisation in Gippsland to participate in a new workplace measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination program.

Under the program your business can include measles vaccination into your seasonal influenza vaccination program and have the costs reimbursed. 

Recent measles importations and outbreaks in Australia have highlighted the urgent need to improve immunity. Measles is a highly infectious viral disease that can cause serious illness, leading to work absenteeism and hospitalisation. It spreads easily when an infected person coughs, sneezes or shares the same space with other people who are susceptible, resulting in outbreaks. 

Many people born between 1966 and 1992 did not get two doses during childhood and may not be fully protected against measles. This program will offer a top-up dose of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccine to this cohort to ensure they are protected. 

The program will have two streams.

Re-imbursement scheme – This stream is designed for business/organisations that plan to run a workplace-based (onsite) influenza vaccination program between April and June 2026. You will need to liaise with your immunisation provider to see if they are able to incorporate MMR into their 2026 seasonal influenza immunisation service to your business/organisation. If they can offer that, you can request reimburseement of the costs at $20.05 ex GST for each MMR dose administered to your emmployees.

Voucher scheme – if your business/organisation does not run a workplace-based (onsite) influenza vaccination program, GRPHU can provide electronic vouchers that you can distribute to your employees to get vaccinated at their local Council immunisation clinic or at participating pharmacies.
