Research & Clinical Trials

Research for change – together improving health outcomes for the Gippsland community

Research and Clinical Trials

Research and clinical trials go hand-in-hand in discovering and improving patient care and treatment. They help to improve treatments, practices and policies in the healthcare system.

Since its establishment in 2019, our Research and Clinical Trials Unit has managed projects and clinical trials across a variety of healthcare areas, driven by the specific needs and health priorities of our community across Gippsland.

In developing our clinical research portfolio, LRH has built solid internal foundations and worked with our support services to ensure we have access to fully accredited local pathology and radiology services.

In the next phase of embedding clinical research into ‘business as usual’ at LRH, we have a clear vision on how best to raise awareness of the opportunities research presents as a means to increasing care practices in order to position LRH as a trusted and respected centre of excellence for research.
